Where Protaras Boat Trips Leave From
Most trips board within a few minutes of the resort. The main departure points are Protaras Pier, the small Pernera Harbour just north of town, and Paralimni Marina a little further round, with many cruises also sailing from the newer Ayia Napa Marina next door. Because Protaras sits right on the best of the coast, the sail to the caves and the lagoon is short, so the day is spent swimming rather than travelling. What You See on a Protaras Cruise
The classic Protaras route strings together the best of the south-east coast. Boats sail south past Konnos Bay to the white cliffs and sea caves of Cavo Greco, slowing at the natural stone arch known as the Love Bridge, then anchor in the shallow turquoise Blue Lagoon for a long swim and snorkel. Many trips add a second stop at Green Bay, the shallow reef off Pernera where sea turtles are regular visitors and the snorkelling is the best on the coast. Every Protaras boat trip falls into one of a handful of types. The prices below are typical 2026 market ranges per adult and vary by operator, boat and season — use them as a rough guide, not a quote.
Half-day sea caves & Blue Lagoon cruise

Green Bay, Turtles & What the Water Is Like
None of these swim stops is a beach — you enter the water from the deck or the swim ladder, a jump for the brave and steps for everyone else. The Blue Lagoon edges are shallow, around 1 to 2 metres over pale sand and limestone, which is what makes the water glow, while the centre drops to 5 to 8 metres of glass-clear water. Green Bay, off Pernera, is the snorkelling highlight: a shallow reef with sunken statues and rocks where green and loggerhead turtles graze on the seagrass, often close enough to watch from the surface. Seeing one is never guaranteed, but this stretch of coast is one of the better places in Cyprus to try. The south-east sea is warm too, running 26 to 28°C in high summer — among the warmest water on the island.
Green Bay off Pernera is the snorkelling stop — a shallow reef where turtles graze the seagrass.
Non-swimmers are not left out. The shallow edges are calm enough to wade with a noodle or vest, the crew keeps an eye on the water, and glass-bottom boats on this coast let you see the reef and the turtles without getting wet at all. Confident swimmers should bring a mask — the water clarity is the whole point.

Best Time for a Protaras Boat Trip
Protaras has a remarkably long season. The sea is warm enough to swim from late May into November, and this south-east corner warms fastest and holds its heat longest, so you can still swim comfortably in October. The sweet spots are June, September and early October — warm water, long days and thinner crowds than the July–August peak, when the Blue Lagoon and the caves are busiest between about 10am and 3pm.
